I decided to do a post about my first one hour skirt which I whipped up in less than an hour almost an year ago! It has not seen the world yet, but it’s cherished in my closet. So here’s a piece of clothing that made me fall in love with sewing all over again.
Hope you all like it!
Till next time,
Being a bit on the curvy side means it’s always challenging to find clothes that fits perfect around all your curves. This was one reason I got back into sewing. And today I realize how a few simple well fitting silhouettes can dominate your style!
As you all know, I am a big fan of shift dresses. That is probably my number one silhouette. Well, this is my second. A well sewn, we fitted, tailored skirt. It can also be called a pencil skirt.
So this is my latest royal blue pencil skirt that I am absolutely in love with!
Pattern – Love sewing magazine – Lottie Skirt
Fabric – Cotton Stretch
I have three more skirts planned and looking forward to finishing them this week! Hope you all like it! Till next time.
I just realized that I mostly sew monochrome prints. My closet is filled with black & white outfits and I need to sew more colorful options. Anyhow, I was teaching a maxi dress lesson last week and the dresses of the students made me wanted to create my own. So I did. Here’s a my latest make for May with a fabric that has been in my stash for more than 3 years!
I am yet to wear it, hope you all like it.
Till next time.
We are all guilty of spending hours on pinterest, pinning pictures and projects in hope of re-creating them. But how many of us actually do? I have been pinning for years, and I made my first pinterest inspired make only a few weeks ago. Sigh!
We should make a commitment to make at least one project from pinterest a month, because there’s so many and I don’t think our lifetime is enough to do all that! But if we commit to a plan, I suppose we can be proud of making 12 gorgeous projects in the end of the year. That’s at least a start.
So here’s what I was inspired by:
That Lady is half my size, but me being the body positive advocate of my own life, and inspired by Ashley Graham, decided to make this outfit for myself. And it came out pretty awesome and I loved wearing it! 🙂
I used the Simplicity New look 6145 pattern and hacked it into a crop top and removed the zipper at the back because I sued a knit Fabric. I self drafted the skirt using one of my favorite high-waist skirts.
Hope you all like it. I promise myself to make more outfits inspired by pinterest.
Till next time.
