Hello Sewcialists of the world,
It’s time to talk about my second dress for my me-made-100 challenge. As I mentioned to you all in my previous post, I am challenging myself to make 100 pieces of clothing for this year, and to record them on my blog.
As per my goal, I need to make at least 5 pieces per month if I need to reach it. So far my pace is a bit too slow and I need to work on that.
Number 2 – The Striped Shift Dress
I started off with two sketches and was having a dilemma about what to make. I preferred the sleeved version but then I took to my Facebook page and asked everyone what they think is better. And the majority requested to make the sleeveless version, so I went with the popular demand and I am glad I did. I loved it in the end!
Here is the dress modeled by my dress form which I fondly call “Zoya”
And this is me wearing it…
Let’s go into the technical details now. The pattern I used was the free shift dress pattern by “simple sew”.
- excluded the sleeves and facing
- used the bust dart and manipulated into the style lines
This is an absolute beginner pattern and the fit is perfect. you can download it for free here: Brigitte Dress – Free Pattern
- yarn dye – polyester knit
- 2 hours
Hope you all like it… Till next time..
