As it is evident I couldn’t keep my promise of making something everyday. But I did sew, and on the first of July,I made a blue silk top which turned out very bad I didn’t want to take a picture of it. I completely gave up on it and started on a cherry red bat-wing top that I’ve been waiting to make for a few weeks.
The Pattern – Bat Wing Top
I traced one of my favorite Bat-Wing tops to make the pattern.
The Fabric – Bat Wing Top
I used a very lightweight knit fabric that was in my stash. The fabric was very transparent so I doubled the layers.
Sewing Time – Bat Wing Top
It took me a total of about 4 hours to complete the top
I paired the red top with a stripe skirt I quickly whipped up last month with some left over fabric. The fabric of the skirt is also knit and is fitted with an elastic. I used a strip of fabric with vertical stripes around the hem to give it some detail and the sewing time for the skirt was about 1.5 hours.
Above is my latest red and stripes ensemble. I also made a style board on Polyvore on how to style my new top in the future.
